The Presentation of Mary

The Presentation of Mary is remembering when Mary was taken to a temple when she was around the age of three to be taught to say prayers, serve the priests and about the Bible.

This was a tradition and Mary stayed there she was about fifteen. Mary stayed with the girls who were dedicated to prayer and service to the temple.

Mary read the Bible, said prayers and helped the priests while she was at the temple. She also made linens and vestments.

This feast day was first celebrated around the 11th Century.

Pope John Paul II dedicated the feast day as Pro Orantibus Day, a day for all the nun orders that are dedicated to prayer, in silence and recollection.
