RAAF family day

On Saturday, we went to the RAAF family day. It was really cool.

All of us went, and we were going to take a friend, but he had things on. First of all, when we arrived, we had to get visitor passes and then went into the base.

We tried out a C130 Hercules H simulator, which was great fun. When I flew, Jonathon was my co-pilot (holding me back from flying really low!) and we flew under Sydney Harbour Bridge. Thomas and Luke, his co-pilot, also flew under the bridge but they crashed afterwards, trying to land.

It was also really funny, because we couldn't put the landing gear up, as an alarm went off!!! So instead, we flew with the landing gear down.

After that, we had sausages and drinks, and then went on a Hercules H for a flight around the Blue Mountains. It was a fairly low flight, but the plane was really noisy!

We met some friends who had come, and then we went home.

It was really great fun. especially the simulator!

I'm really envious of you getting to go in the simulator - and a real Herc too! I haven't been in one of those in years. And years. And years...
I've heard the simulators are pretty realistic too. So I guess you and Jonathon are all ready to do an Indiana Jones somewhere in South America :)
